Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch Post-Impressionist artist.
His paintings and drawings include some of the world's best known, most popular and most expensive pieces.
Born in Groot-Zundert in Netherlands his father was a pastor, so he grew up in a religious and cultured atmosphere. He has two brothers and three sisters.
After he worked unsecsessfuly as a clerk in a bookstore, an art salesman, and a preacher in Belgium he studied art in the same country.
He had two unlucky romances.
He was very emotional and sensible and so his pictures were very dark and just after he met Pissarro Monet an Gauguin he lighten his palette of colours
He cut up his ear lope and in may 1890 he shot himself


The name of the painting is "The Harvest", which was drawn in June of 1888 by Vincent van Gogh
It was one of the lighten paintings from him.
The picture show us some fields in the provence and people , who harvest corn.

My Weekend

Because I don't have much time, i only write about my favourite part of the weekend which was the shopping tour on Saturday and before that the visit by Madame Tussaud's.

The wax figures by Madame tussaud's looks like real persons, it was very intresting there and we took a lot of photos from us with the wax figures. But I think we spent too much time into the exhibition.

After the visit by Madame tussaud's we went shopping in Oxford street.

Excursion (II)

Yesterday ( Thursday) we went on a trip to london again . On this trip we were going to learn more about the Great fire of London , the plaque and the ship ( HMS BELFAST) .

We got by bus to london the most of us listened to music or slept.

After arriving at london we met our tourgide, he was the one we had on our first trip to london.

And he was as so crazy as on ther first trip at he said the same things again ( " are you happy?","I'm impressed". I think he is nice and starnge.



Great Fire of london: Take place on 2 September 1666. it satrted in a baker shop on the pudding lane. The fire was four days long and destroied 87 churches. The people thought that god want to punish with the fire the people who were fat or who ate too much.



The plaque: The palque was in 1665 and a lot ofd people died. I don't remeber the number of died people but it was a high number. In germany we call this plaque " Die Pest". Fleas that sits on rats were the cause that so many people had the plaque.



After our guiding tour we went on the HMS Belfast it's a ship which was in the II. worldwar.

we went on some diffrent decks and saw the diffrent rooms.



After that we get by bus back to Queenswood and we arrived early , that was very good.



All in all I think the excursion was good and we took a lot of pictures.

Weekend

There is a lot to say about the weekend;

Friday

First we had an Assembly in the theatre here at Queenswood, some workshops gave us a quick view about what they did in the week.

Of course the Drama workshops had to perform something. I was in the Junior Drama Workshop and so I had to act in front of everyone. I was very afraid before the show but during the show it was okay. Some of the things didn't happen the way they should have e.g the light and the music didn't switch on at the right time. So I found our performance not very good but we didn't have much time. But I think we entertained the other people because they laughed all the time.



Saturday

On Saturday we went first to Cambridge. We didn't see a lot of the city and I wanted to see more but we didn't have enough time. I think Cambridge is a beautiful small city with very old buildings.
Oh and we went shopping also, of course.
After the trip to Cambridge we had a disco here at Queenswood in the dining hall. The first hour was very boring because nobody danced but after that it was fine.


Sunday

On Sunday morning we could go to Thorpe park. It's a theme park here in England.
It was fantastic there was one roller coaster which was so high , we went on it and it was a crazy feeling.
Then we got very wet because we went on a water roller coaster.

All in all I think it was a good weekend.

Queenswood

This is the 4th day here at Queenswood :


We have 8 lessons per day and one of these is a e-comm lesson. I'm sitting here in this e-comm lesson and creating my own blog and outside it's rainig like the other day, it's very cold and the weather makes me crazy.


Yesterday we went to the cinema , we watched the film hancock but I found the film boring.


First I wanted to go home but now I think it's o.k. here because we have a lot of fun with the other guys. I hope that tomorrow the sun will shine even if it's only for a little while. On thursday we're going to the tower of london so we have no school that makes me happy,

Trip to London and the Tower of London ( I)

Yesterday we went on the trip to London, it was the first day where the sun was shining all the time and there was no rain so it was fantastic.


We learned a lot about the English history and and I understood the leader well but he was a bit crazy always asking us 'are you happy?'.


After nearly 2 hours in London we went to the Tower of London, there we were aloud to go alone, it means that we needn't be in our classes. We was in the white tower. I think it was the best day ever here in Queenswood.
